10 School Fundraiser Ideas in Massachusetts

Here are ten event formats for Massachusetts PTOs and PTAs to consider. Each school can evaluate the format against its own goals, venue and available volunteers.

1. Game truck event night

A game truck can serve as the event's gaming attraction. RVG Mass provides the truck's consoles, screens, onboard internet and one professional Game Coach; capacity and weather limits are stated in the confirmed facts above. See school and fundraiser event information.

2. Fun run / walk-a-thon

A school can organize a course where participants complete laps and supporters pledge toward participation. Confirm the venue, staffing and event details locally.

3. Silent auction with local gift cards

Gift cards and donated experiences from local businesses can form an auction catalog. An online format can make bidding more convenient for families.

4. Trivia night for the grown-ups

A team-based trivia event can be held at an appropriate local venue. The school can choose categories and a format that suit its community.

5. Holiday gift fair

A holiday fair can feature small donated or wholesale gifts for students to choose from for family members.

6. Restaurant nights

Some local restaurants offer school partnership nights. Ask each participating business directly about its current terms.

7. Movie night on the field

An outdoor movie night combines a screening with a school gathering. Confirm venue, licensing and weather requirements with the appropriate providers.

8. Car wash + community day

A car wash can be combined with other community displays or activities, subject to approval from each participating organization.

9. Cookbook or art fundraiser

Student art can be collected for products such as mugs or calendars, or families can contribute recipes for a school cookbook.

10. Esports tournament

A bracket-style Mario Kart, Fortnite or Madden event offers a screen-based tournament format. An RVG Mass game truck tournament uses the truck's consoles, screens and onboard internet.

How to compare the ideas

Compare each format against your school's goals, available venue, volunteer capacity and provider requirements before choosing one.
