Game Truck vs. Laser Tag: How Do They Compare?

A video game truck and mobile laser tag offer different experiences. This comparison outlines the formats so you can consider which better fits your Massachusetts event.

Weather & time of year

Laser tag is often played outdoors or in a large open space, so weather can affect the experience. The game truck has a climate-controlled interior for 16 players. Its two exterior screens add space for 8 more only when conditions allow; the two exterior screens are unavailable in rain, snow, or other inclement weather.

Ages & energy level

Laser tag emphasizes active, running play. A game truck emphasizes screen-based play across several stations. Consider which format better matches your group's preferences.

Group size & downtime

RVG Mass can host up to 24 players: 16 inside and 8 outside on two exterior screens when weather permits. Plan around 16 when inclement weather may close those screens; larger groups can use rotations. Laser tag also commonly uses rounds, so compare each format with your group size in mind.

Cost

The wow-factor

A game truck rolling up with neon lights, surround sound, PS5, Xbox and Switch creates a distinctive entrance. PSVR2 is available with bookings of two hours or longer. Laser tag offers a different active-play experience, while the truck combines the venue and gaming setup.

Why not both?

Both formats offer different styles of play. For RVG Mass, plan around 16 interior players when weather may close the two exterior screens; larger groups can rotate.
